Wouldn’t it be Grand

by Megan Cassidy

Wouldn’t it be grand
If our leaders could understand,
Just how much our human hand,
Is stamped on our planet.

The facts threaten to strand
Us all in denial-land;
Accept, or be unmanned,
By the crushing truth.

It’s time to take a stand,
For though it was unplanned,
We are sinking in quicksand
Far faster, than we thought.

Our minds they must expand,
Our prejudices disband,
We need a firebrand,
To put out planet before profit.

So get out and demand,
Our leaders to command
Our safe future, or be canned
So we don’t end up extinct.

And wouldn’t it be grand,
If we all could understand,
That we can stand hand in hand,
And together save our planet!
